The Game: Aces second game of the weekend was against Plymouth Raiders in British Wheelchair Basketball’s Division 2 – South. The game got underway with Aces winning possession from the tip, going on to convert the first basket of the game courtesy of Leanna Adams, who doubled the scoring moments later. Plymouth soon responded with 2 uncontested baskets of their own. The quarter continued in an end-to-end manor and it was Aces who went into the second quarter with a narrow lead of 10-9.

The first basket of the quarter came from Raiders, courtesy of Blyth Palk. Like the first quarter though the scoring stayed close with both sides taking it in turns to lead the game. However it was Plymouth Raiders who saw out the second quarter with a narrow lead after collecting 6 points without a response from Aces. Half time score 18-19 in favour of Raiders.

The third quarter started with Aces taking the one point lead with an early basket before Raiders came back with a dubious 3 pointer. Aces came back with two quick baskets accompanied by the conversion of a free throw following a shooting foul. The game continued in the same back and fourth manner but it was once again Plymouth who outscored the home side, winning the third quarter 11-15.

The final quarter started fairly slowly with it took 4 minutes for the first basket to drop, courtesy of Oscar Knight of Raiders. Plymouth continued to build into the quarter, scoring 12 points whilst Aces failed to convert a single shot in the final quarter. This led to Raiders pulling away in what was a very close game, taking the win 29-46.
